In order to make the deputy know in depth the development of Nansha high-tech industry and the situation of farmers’ increasing income, on July 3^rd-4^th, the Standing Committee of Nansha People’s Congress organized the deputy of the 11^th Sodality of Guangzhou  People’s Congress to inspect the Information, Science and Technology Park and the situation of farmers’ increasing income. Gao Yongjian and Li Desen, members of the 11^th Guangdong People’s Congress and some members of Standing Committee of Nansha People’s Congress were also invited. Liu Jianwei, vice-executive of Nansha Zone and some leaders of Nansha government accompanied them.

The deputy listened to the reports about the planning of the Information, Science and Technology Park, the situation of farmers’ income and their increasing income given by the Development and Reform Bureau and the Agriculture and Forestry Bureau respectively. They inspected the environment of Nansha Information, Science and Technology Park, Guangzhou Nansha Huishi Communication Technology Co., Ltd, Guangzhou Jingke Electronics Co., Ltd and Nansha Jie Tangkeng Litchi Park.

At the brief summarizing meeting, the deputy affirmed and highly appreciated the work done and the achievements made by Nansha government in pushing forward the development of Nansha Information, Science and Technology Park and increasing farmers’ income. They also made some constructive advice on making  Nansha Information, Science and Technology Park more famous, supporting the development of high-tech projects, introducing high-end talents, developing service industry, increasing the investment on the construction of agriculture infrastructure, developing ecotourism, optimizing the structure of agricultural product, perfecting the construction of rural circulation system, resolving agricultural insurance, implementing agricultural informatization, improving farmers’ farming skill and perfecting farmers’ social insurance.

Zeng Zhaotian, vice-director of Standing Committee of Nansha People’s Congress, stressed at the meeting that leaders of Guangdong province and Guangzhou city like Wang Yang and Zhang Guangning, all attached much importance to and had high hopes for the development of Nansha Information, Science and Technology Park. The Information, Science and Technology Park was the key point to create a “Silicon Valley” of South Guangzhou marked by the science and technology cooperation between Guangzhou and Hong Kong. Its development and radiative effect would push forward Nansha High-Tech Industry to realize its leaps and bounds. Zeng Zhaotian advised the zone government to integrate the forces of Henry Fok Foundation, to publicize Nansha Information, Science and Technology Park to make it more famous, to improve its ability of attracting traders and investment, to work out some preferential policies and encouraging methods and to construct a “Silicon Valley” building.

In addition, helping farmers to increase their income and making them share the fruits of the exploration of Nansha Development Zone was an important measure taken by the zone government as well as its obligatory responsibility and serious promise. Suggestions: further regulating the structure of agricultural product, developing vigorously the planting industry with high economic value, planning reasonably the agricultural development of Nansha, integrating agricultural resources, forming scale production, creating Nansha’s highlight and decentralizing the power of road greening and its maintaining to streets and towns to provide more employment opportunities to farmers.
