Guangzhou Nansha Development Zone lies on the the Pearl River Estuary, west bank of Lingding Ocean. After many years of development, Nansha became a modern coastal city from a border town. Huo Yingdong, famous entrepreneur in Hong Kong, invested a lot to build a batch of projects of infrastructure facilities. It was said that he had planed to build a hospital in Nansha, but he knew afterwards that Guangzhou had already had related plans, so he decided to make some donation to do the public sanitation service well.
