In order to ensure that the Nansha has close contact with with Guangzhou and the Pearl River Delta, Nansha area plans a comprehensive transportation system with highways and expressways as the skeleton and railway, subway, and shipping as supporting. In highways and expressways network, Nansha plans the highways and expressways from Guangzhou to Nansha including the Beijing-Zhuhai Expressway East branch, and Guangzhou and other southern quick link to south of Guangzhou, of which south of the expressway can reach longxue Island through the around city highway from Cangtou Interchange Bridge.

Port logistics industry. In September 2004, four 50,000-ton multi-purpose berths in the Guangzhou port Nansha Port have completed and put into use. At present, six 100,000-ton container berths approved by the nation are stepping up the building. Longxue Island integrated logistics base mainly develops international logistics, and is planned to build into an bonded Logistics centre with international transit, delivery, distribution and international procurement functions. Currently the General Administration of Customs is approving the bonded logistics center in Guangzhou Nansha (B type) which will implement bonded warehouses and export supervision of warehouse operation and management.

       
      
       

Nansha makes full use of the advantages of its deep water line resources and geography, attaches the importance to the construction of Guangzhou Port Nansha Area and develop the port logistic park to attract the enterprises home and abroad engaged in logistics and transportation to settle down in the port. Now the first phase of Guangzhou Port Nansha Area, four fifty-thousand-ton docks, has put into use in September 2004, and the second phase of another two a hundred thousand-ton docks which is the biggest berth terminal in Guangzhou has also operated in early December 2006. The infrastructures in Longxue Island Logistics Park for the needs of port are under construction. The infrastructures and municipal engineering installations in the first area of 0.92km2 of Bonded Logistics Type B has finished in accordance with the Custom requirement. Nansha export manufacture area this year will receive the inspection from the relevant national departments. Maersk Group, the largest ocean shipping enterprise and COSCO, the fifth dock company, contracted to join Guangzhou Port Nansha Area second phase construction and operation in 2006, which will expand the handling capacity of Guangdong Port Nansha Area and activate the logistics and market rapid development. In first half of 2007 the handling capacity of Nansha Port was 36,270,000 tons, up 48.3% and container handling capacity was 204 million cases, up 169.58%. Nansha Area has opened international routes to countries in America, Europe, Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia and 18 domestic routes.
